About Me.
Rebecca Mendoza is the Lead Faculty for Accounting
at Palo Alto College in San Antonio, TX. Rebecca
earned her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Accounting
from Southern New Hampshire University.
Along with teaching full-time, Rebecca is also currently
a doctoral student at Abilene Christian University
studying Education and a CPA candidate.
Before becoming the youngest full-time faculty member
on campus, Rebecca spent over five years in the public,
private, and non-profit sectors of accounting including
working for her own non-profit, the CC Warriors
Organization. This organization began in 2011 as her
Girl Scout Gold Award Project which focused on
breaking the barriers between students with disabilities
and the general population through dance. This
program became the first in the nation to incorporate a
dance program for all abilities at the elementary level.
This organization’s mission grew throughout Rebecca’s
reign as Miss San Antonio 2019 under the Miss America
Organization. Determined to speak about inclusion, Rebecca presented to over 115 schools in and around San Antonio, TX, and appeared at over four hundred events dedicated to volunteerism for the city of San Antonio. With years of advocating for inclusion, innovation, and breaking stereotypes, Rebecca is leading the way toward how faculty teach the next generation of students. Rebecca hopes that students can see her as a way of breaking societal norms and achieving dreams regardless of circumstance.
